![]() My name is Maria Cirilo and I am from Mexico. I have a dream to run an Asian-Mexican fusion restaurant with my husband because he has been a chef for 25 years and I used to be a waitress! I am worried about having no explanations for questions or not being able to understand, but I can still try every day. If I didn’t come to school, I would not understand English. I am glad that I came to school to understand English. Now, I can try and it’s not perfect, but I try to use English at the hospital and at work. My husband had to help me with everything. Just come to school.Įnglish has transformed everything in my life because for years, I didn’t understand. If my kids get bullied, I can support them. It’s better for everything when I’m shopping at the store. You will get more opportunities and understand your kids more. My advice to new Guadalupe School students would be to not give up. All of the other friends gave up, but I didn’t and now I am graduating. I came here with three friends and they all thought that they weren’t progressing, but one day you will learn one phrase and you will learn more every day. ![]() It’s good for my family, more money, and new experiences. Since starting classes at Guadalupe School, I’ve earned more opportunities at work and I want to try to get a promotion. This year she had to stay at home for school and I was able to help. Now I understand better pronunciation, I can speak to other people, and help her with her homework. I understand more English than when I first came here. My daughter is why I registered for classes at Guadalupe School. I want to understand more English so that I can help her with homework. I have one daughter who is seven years old. It is better here for my kids and better for their life in the future. All of my family is in Mexico, but it is more dangerous there. Despite that, I try to come to school to understand more and get better opportunities at work. I struggled with the language barrier and how different everything was from Mexico. It was hard to learn a new language and culture, but there were more opportunities for everybody here. I migrated here in 2001 because it’s better for my family, there are more possibilities, and to help my family in Mexico. These are only a few of the examples of the way these teachers have impacted my life in a good way.My name is Anita Guzman and I am from Mexico. These two teachers have taught me a lot not just about school, but life lessons. They are also always in a good mood, making the classroom a great place to be in. ![]() This is great because if a student falls behind they could do bad on their tests. They both know students can be shy so they ask specifically people who look confused. Falls, they both make sure every student understands and does good in his class. He also never leaves any students behind. This shows me to stand up for what’s right or what i believe in and don’t let anyone give you bull. He talks about how everyone is different and that they can’t help themselves. ![]() Any time someone makes fun of another person, he stands up for them. They are fun to be around and bring joy even when there is little joy to be found. They both are very laid back chill teachers most of the time. They both have a very similar personalities. One of my teachers in 6Th grade and one in 9Th grade have impacted me. Teachers throughout the years of school for me have been extremely different. ![]()
